There’s nothing more frustrating than buyer’s remorse and an un-used purchase, so if you’re like me and you’re already trying to figure out what to do with your holiday cash gifts: do your credit card a favor and read this before checking out.

These three little steps have saved me from hundreds of unnecessary purchases - so today I’m sharing with you in the hopes that they will do the same <3

Step 1: Gather Inspiration

Before I buy anything, I want to make sure it aligns with my authentic sense of style. My favorite way to do this is to go on Pinterest and search for pictures of outfits, colors, and even locations that inspire me. I always find that the best photos come up when you add the word “aesthetic” to your Pinterest search - try adding words like “elegant, neutral, 90s, retro, vintage, feminine, powerful, colorful, creative” to your Pinterest searches. Try multiple different “aesthetics” that align with your personality or the kind of energy you want to communicate and then save all of the photos you like into a special folder or download them to your phone to make a “personal style” album. The more photos, the better! Just save anything that makes you feel happy, inspired, and excited: no matter what it looks like or how different it may be.
